Snow Days In Jeopardy?!
I am writing this post during a 2 HOUR DELAY of the public school system! Whoop whoop! :) But the sky is clear and the roads look fine. If there was any time we needed a cancellation or delay, it should have been yesterday.
I stepped out of the shower in the morning and looked out the huge window by the upstairs hallway. It was snowing like crazy! At first it wasn't sticking, but then it started to get on the road a little bit. We were sent off to school anyway, but most of us were waiting for an announcement over the PA for us to go home.
After talking to some of my friends, there was even more evidence that it might be dangerous to go to school. One friend's mom nearly skidded into a mailbox; another friend could barely make it up her driveway! Something must have froze to the roads- why were we still at school?
I took a survey of some kids on whether or whether not we should be in school, and the results came out like this:
As you can see, the majority said Yes.
We all were puzzling on why we were still in school. Some kids said it was because the new superintendent is from a snowy area and wanted us to go to school. I still find it a little strange that we were still allowed to go even though many people were having trouble on the roads.
What's your opinion? There's a new poll out on this hot topic, and you can also post your views on the comments page.

Long Time, No Post and Spelling Bees
Right, so it's been more than a month since either me or CJ has posted, so here I am! So, just recently, we had the county spelling bee which was hosted at CMS for the first time. In fact, it was the first time, the county spelling didn't take place in the school board office. And no one had told me the spelling bee was at our school until my mom called the board office to confirm the time I had to be there for the spelling bee, 3 hours before the actual thing. Honestly, CMS had a big honor. So big, and our principal WASN'T there! (And me, because I was representing CMS) Maybe he was busy or something, but still.... Instead, our assistant principal was there and our former principal was there. I ended up winning on the word "mealymouthed." Really weird word right? It means: avoiding the use of direct and plain language, as from timidity, excessive delicacy, or hypocrisy; inclined to mince words; insincere, devious, or compromising.
